Warli Wall Decor Plate

The Sahyadri tribe has cherished and treasured Warli art for generations. The essence of art relies on using very basic graphic vocabulary: a circle, a triangle, and a square. The circle represents the sun and the moon, and the triangle speaks for mountains and pointed trees. Living beings are represented through triangles and lines.

Since long ago, Warli Canvas has been used to decorate the walls of homes, buildings, hotels, gardens, and temples. The tribal people would depict daily routine activity on the walls. Warli art has a soothing effect. Before painting, the mud walls were given a coat of cow dung or red terracotta clay (geru), along with a few earthy elements. This coat added an extra layer to the wall, which made it highly durable and resistant to harsh surroundings. Gradually, the canvas shifted to hand-woven manjhar cloth. The artist provides an aesthetic touch to the cloth by applying cow dung or a red terracotta clay coat. Attractive paintings are developed on manjhar cloth.

Warli beautifies niche corners of offices and succeeds in adding elegance to the seven-star hotel lobby. The paintings were developed with a lot of diligence and patience. Warli art can blend with all types of mediums: handmade paper, MDF sheet, wood, metal platforms, cotton-rayon clothes, bird feathers, clothing, bags, jewellery, every other textile, and accessories. Architects and interior designers prefer warli art on multiple corners, walls, or ceilings of homes or office spaces.

Truly tribal works with artisans and provides a huge medium for artists to develop warli art and earn a decent living. Our craftsman created attractive mobile holders, pen stands, beautiful coasters, and amazing manjhar cloth paintings.
